Artists and not only fashion photographers, meet each other in an exhibition that tackles the theme of the relationship, often complicated, between body and clothing. No fashion, please! is the eponymous catalogue of the exhibition curated by Peter Weiermair, that has been on show at the Kunsthalle Wien until last January 29, and which presented the artworks of 19 photographers, focused on the expression of their ideas on gender and lifestyle.
The controversial relationship between body shape and what appears is the theme of challenging shots that attract the eye, center the attention, hypnotize. Photographies, video-projections, sculptures and performances are the different communication medias used by the selected artists to represent the clothes and different products of the fashion industry as fragments of a metanarrative discourse, as a pretext to tell about another reality: the hope and the dream of changing body and, among all, its ideas and ideals on it.
Among the faboulous elected, the Israeli artist Lea Golda Holterman, featured twice on DROME: once in the Love issue and the second time in a series of shots produced by DROME and conceived for the Time issue.
