VERTIGO OF REALITY ::
CRISTIANO BERTI ON SHOW

Marginal stories, unimportant stories according to someone, but not for Cristiano Berti, the Turin artist whose work always makes reference to reality, of which he reveals hidden faults and absurdities fallen into oblivion.
Vertigo of reality” is the exhibition on show until April 1 at the Mole Vanvitelliana, which collects for the first time the sixteen projects made by the artist from 2001 to present. Seemingly anonymous landscapes reveal themselves as frayed crimes’ scenarios and tell unexpected exotic anthropological stories. The works are produced with a photograpic process, digital and industrially printed, and in some cases consist of consumed and disused items, reused by the artist as fetishes to revitalize. In the photographic series Memorial (2001-2002) as well as in Prestige (2002) or in Body of crime (2005), Berti prefers situations of social exclusion that are tipically loaded with a communicative power that is subversive and disruptive.
The exhibition, curated by Gabriele Tinti, is accompanied by an Allemandi catalogue with an essay by Luigi Fassi.
