PIVI FOR TIBET ::
TULKUS 1880 TO 2018

Tulkus 1880 to 2018 is a project curated by Paola Pivi. A new “mission impossible” for the Milanese artist, this time made with love and passion to Tibet, a land dear to her, that has developed and coordinated with the collaboration of the historical Tibetan Tashi Tsering. A progressive collection of photographic portraits of all the tulku, from the beginnings of photography to the present. A tulku in Tibetan Buddhism is recognized as the reincarnation of a Buddhist master that, having reached a high level of achievement, can choose the mode of his reincarnation, and often communicate through encrypted clues, his place of birth. A non-profit project also: in 2018, following the last show, all photographs borrowed will be returned to their rightful owners, and those specially produced will be donated to an institution, which will be decided on the advice of His Holiness The Dalai Lama.
